Kitchen Remodel: Part 15: Breakfast Bar – Part C

I have made the drawers for the breakfast bar. The boxes for the drawers are constructed in the same manner as the drawers in the rest of the kitchen. The side are held together with a tongue and groove joint with glue. The bottoms are held in a dado running around the bottom of the drawer sides, with no glue. The drawer fronts are made separately from the boxes. They are made of the same khaya as the breakfast bar top. The pulls are made from the same wood and run the full length of the drawer.

  1. If you still have some bamboo plywood leftover, I think you could use it to make a really cool clock to replace the one on the wall. Just use the existing motor and lay some bamboo segments on the wall behind it. Maybe glue 12 segments together and turn it on the lathe.

  2. I watched the ENTIRE Kitchen series 1-15.c … and its really really good stuff! Love the use of materials, care and consideration of the layout down to every single item you made! WOW! Heck of a job!!! The little door was great and added a bit of fun in the project! Thanks for sharing this project!

  3. I watch a lot of videos on Youtube and I often find myself venturing on to channels which I would never actively seek out. Yours is one such channel but I just watched this entire series and I have to say well done. Not only did you create something both beautiful and practical for your home, you also made a series of very well produced and very engaging videos. You clearly have a lot of fun with the woodworking that you do and this equally carries across to the documentation. You have lots of lovely little stylisations in your videos and you know when to use them. We've seen you build drawers before so, rather than just show the same process again, you use stop motion to make it different and fun. Really is a joy to watch. Your channel may not be one which I would have actively sought out but you now have me as a dedicated subscriber. I look forward to watching the rest of your back catalogue and I know for a fact that I will get that little tingle of excitement every time I see a new video pop up in my subscriptions.

  4. I watched the ENTIRE Kitchen series 1-15.c and enjoyed them all. Your craft is beautiful and practical, You clearly are a talented gentleman! It was quite the undertaking but in the end it came out great.

  5. Fantastic Job. It all looks very nice. I have almost watched all your videos now… can't get enough. You have me shopping for a DeWalt Radial arm saw now too, haha! Thank you for all the hard work you put into the production of your channel, I look forward to watching many more of your videos.
