Wood Turned Peppermint Christmas Ornament

This year’s Christmas ornament is inspired by a peppermint candy. It is a twisted striped segmented woodturned sphere. To make the ornament, I made a tall cylinder of thin segments of alternating padauk and maple wood. Next, I sliced this cylinder into sections and glued the sections back together with a twist in the pattern of alternating woods. Then I wood turned this cylinder into a sphere and made the ornament.
